Hawkeye Updates: Upcoming Disney+ series Hawkeye will see the introduction of Kate Bishop, a Hawkeye fangirl with an annoying-yet-charming rapport with the archer.

Jeremy Renner who plays the role of Hawkeye in the MCU recently talked about Hawkeye’s relationship with Kate Bishop. Hawkeye would be Disney+’s next live-action Marvel series.

The series would be following the three highly successful MCU series of this year WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Loki, and is highly anticipated.

The series will see MCU newcomer Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop and the return of Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye. The show is set to release on November 24 on Disney+ with new episodes releasing every Wednesday.

Disney+’s Hawkeye would follow Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer who hopes to be a hero. She eventually comes under the tutelage of Hawkeye and the story kicks off there. In the comics, Kate Bishop becomes the next Hawkeye after Clint Barton, the series could also take the same course.

The cast of the series also includes Vera Farmiga, Alaqua Cox, Fra Fee, and Tony Dalton. The series will also continue the storyline hinted at during the post-credit scene of the latest Marvel movie Black Widow. In the scene, Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova has set off to confront and possibly assassinate Hawkeye for the death of Natasha Romanoff.

In the latest interview with EW, Jeremy Renner discussed the relationship between Kate Bishop and his character movie. He explained that the relationship between the two arises from Bishop’s great admiration of moive. He called Bishop a fangirl of movie, whose admiration of him and stance as his fan makes her annoying manner seem charming.

Renner revealed that the relationship between the two archers grow from her fangirling and would cause complexity in his life and bring an onslaught of problems.

There is still much unknown about the series, like how Bishop and Hawkeye came into each other’s life or what role Cox’s character Maya Lopez/Echo plays in the storyline of moive. In the comics, Echo is a deaf Native American superhero who has powers that allow her to mimic the movements of others. It is also unknown to what degree Yelena’s resentment towards Clint would take her.

The MCU seems to be growing into a very inclusive universe. The movie will parallel with another upcoming Marvel series Ms. Marvel which will introduce Kamala Khan, MCU’s first Muslim superhero, a teenage fan of Captain Marvel. The two series will also set a pattern that explores the understanding of the hero-society relationship.
