Metroid Dread Preorders at GameStop Come With An Exclusive Pin Set

Published by

Metroid Dread Updates: Fans who preorder Metroid Dread at GameStop will receive a unique pin set featuring Samus and E.M.M.I. Nintendo’s E3 2021 Direct revealed a number of significant announcements, however, none were nearly as thrilling as the Metroid Dread news.

Metroid Dread, the first 2D Metroid adventure in 19 years, has been a long time coming. Nintendo also announced the project at the right time, with Metroid’s 35th anniversary falling on August 6, 2021, when the original game was released in Japan in 1986.

Of course, fans are still waiting to see whether and how Nintendo will commemorate the anniversary, despite the fact that the company has admittedly left the band hanging in the past. When Samus’ anniversary date approaches in the coming days, Metroid fans can only hope that the next game will compel Nintendo to recognize the IP in an official manner.

Those who wish to commemorate Metroid’s 35th anniversary may do so with a set of collectible goods from GameStop. Customers who preorder and buy Metroid Dread from GameStop will receive a GameStop-exclusive pin set depicting Samus Aran and E.M.M.I. The announcement was made in a recent Twitter tweet that included a photo of the pin set.

Unfortunately for some fans, the presale bonus mentioned above may be the only opportunity to get exclusive Metroid Dread items at launch. Nintendo’s previously announced Special Edition for the 2D title sold out in a flash, as many people are aware.

A unique steel bookcase, five art cards celebrating Samus’ 2D adventures, and a 190-page art book will be included in the $90 bundle. A two-pack of Metroid Dread amiibos will also be released, including an armored Samus and E.M.M.I.

In unrelated Metroid news, speculations concerning a remaster of the Metroid Prime Trilogy have been circulating in recent months. According to VentureBeat journalist Jeff Grubb, the long-rumored Nintendo Switch remake is allegedly complete, however, the publisher may be “holding it” owing to pandemic-related QA delays.

Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption was the first three games in the Metroid Prime trilogy, which were published on Wii in 2009. Despite the fact that the collection was finally ported to the Wii U, it has yet to be released on more contemporary systems.
