Kanye West New Album Donda Will Be Released August 6, A Rep Confirms

Kanye West Updates: Donda, Kanye West’s newest album was slated to release on July 23, which was again moved back due to some complications and is now confirmed to release on August 6, confirms Kanye’s representative. West premiered the album at a listening event at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on July 22.

The event was streamed on Apple Music which broke the global live stream record. The premiere grabbed up to 3.3 million viewers who tuned in to watch the show and the album reveal. The album featured the reunion of West with Jay-Z. The special guests also included Pop Smoke, Travis Scott, Pusha T, Baby Keem, Lil Baby, and many others.

The show also included a song that appeared in a new Beats ad. The event also prompted the City of Atlanta to proclaim July 22nd as Kanye West Day. This album follows West’s 2019 album Jesus Is King. His previous solo record Ye arrived in 2018 and was followed by Kids See Ghosts, which included a collaboration with Kid Cudi.

That same year, West produced records by Teyana Taylor, Nas, and Pusha T. There was another album in the planning which was supposed to be called Yandhi which took many setbacks and postponements, and Kanye sadly announced that he had to push back the production of the album which later never released.

Kanye West Said:

Pitchfork

“I realize the new album I’ve been working on isn’t ready yet. I’ll announce the release date once it’s done. Thank you for understanding.”

Kanye West started 2020 with his fashion show. Later that year, he released the single “Wash Us in the Blood”, which featured Travis Scott. West then announced that he will be working on an album named Donda.

This year March, Kanye won the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for Jesus Is King. More recently, West was featured on the posthumous Pop Smoke record Faith.

The track with West is called “Tell the Vision,” and, notably, one of West’s Donda tracklists featured a song of the same name. Well, we wish him the best for his album release and let us know what you think about this, and make sure to stay tuned for more updates.
