Hugh Jackman Updates: Australian actor Hugh Jackman, a mega Hollywood star, recently revealed the first film he ever watched and how much it affected him.

Hugh Jackman is known for his iconic portrayal of Wolverine in the X-Men franchise and has given many blockbusters. The 52-year-old actor revealed that the first film he ever watched was surprisingly The Wizard of the Oz.

Jackman recalled that they used to have annual family holidays in the beachside town on the New South Wales Central Coast when he was a child. The actor shared that his family took him to watch Wizard of the Oz and he remembers getting absolutely terrified after watching the monkey scene at the end. He said that he got so scared that he hid behind his father’s legs and cried through the whole scene.

He revealed that the monkey scene and The Wicked Witch traumatized him so much that he got nightmares later. He joked that he did not sleep for the next five years after watching the movie. The actor said that it’s a surprise that he got back from the ordeal and says that he probably still has PTSD from it.

The interview came soon after Jackman’s recent Instagram post where we can see his competitive side as he beats his wife Deborra-Lee Furness at a game of Backgammon. It is a short video where the actor is seen hiding behind a pole right after winning the game against his very disappointed wife.

In the video, Deborra-Lee rolls the dice and realizes that she had lost. Jackman can be heard consoling her by saying that he just got lucky, before hilariously getting up and hiding behind a pillar. Jackman captioned the video: Competitive much?!

Hugh Jackman recently returned from a brief visit to his home country, Australia. He was in Sydney just for a week and a half following two weeks of mandatory hotel quarantine. His visit to Sydney is believed to have been cut short because of an outbreak of the highly contagious Delta variant of Covid which had led to a lockdown. Last year, the actor had admitted that he was homesick for Australia, as the COVID-19 pandemic raged in New York.

Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee moved to New York with their children in 2008. The family resides in the trendy West Village. At the beginning of the pandemic, Deborra-Lee and the children were in Melbourne but they returned to New York just four days after COVID-19 was declared as a global pandemic in March 2020.
