Sims 4 Long-Neglected Children Finally Get New Activity Options

Sims 4 Updates: Children now have extra activity options thanks to a new update for The Sims 4. Players have been requesting greater involvement for children in The Sims, who have been mostly ignored in terms of gameplay. Thankfully, The Sims 4’s free July 2021 update adds additional kid talents, as well as terrain tools, a food delivery service, and more.

Many Sims 4 players have long been frustrated by the lack of gameplay for the game’s children. In comparison to teenagers and adults, Sims children have fewer gaming choices and are unable to master individual talents like cooking, writing, and painting. Instead, children’s abilities are divided into four categories: creativity, mental ability, motor ability, and social ability.

Simmers have also expressed dissatisfaction with the paucity of children’s goods in both Build/Buy and Create-A-Sim modes. Maxis has added more kid-friendly objects to the game, such as the much-desired Sims 4 bunk beds.

EA‘s July 2021 update follows this trend, offering two new group activities for The Sims 4 kids to participate in: cooking and gardening. These activities allow the entire family to participate, and the kids get Mental skill points for both. Builders will also have something to look forward to, as a new terrain tool allows them to build genuine bodies of water instead of the “cleverly camouflaged ponds” that Simmers previously produced.

Players may also embellish their creations with the new Pond Objects, which include water options like Mossy Water and Pond Scum. Zoomer Food Delivery has also been included in the update, expanding the menu of food delivery possibilities beyond pizza.

The July 2021 Sims 4 update not only adds new content but also solves a slew of issues on both PC and console. Players recently found a bug in the Discover University Expansion Pack, causing Sims to flunk college despite completing all of the requirements.

This problem, as well as crashes while loading Island Living’s Mua Pe’lam, Sims becoming trapped in sleep mode, and a bug that forced Sims to dress in Cold Weather clothing even when they were warm, have been officially fixed in the update.

The update arrives just in time for the release of The Sims 4 Cottage Living, the next expansion. The paid add-on will provide additional hobbies such as cross-stitching, canning, and farming to the realm of Henford-on-Bagley. The pack, which will be released on July 22 for PC and consoles, is expected to be one of the finest The Sims 4 expansion packs ever. The Rideable Bike, Gnome Statue, and Lighted Tree will be given to players who purchase the expansion before September 2nd.
