The Rock Explains Difference Between Black Adam and Superman’s Powers In The DC Movie Universe

The Rock Updates: Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock will enter the DC Movie Universe as Black Adam, one of the most powerful characters in DC Comics.

The strength of Black Adam has been speculation for a long time. Superman has been undisputedly the most powerful character that DC has. For thousands of moviegoers who are not familiar with Black Adam will be introduced for the first time with the anti-hero. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, The Rock cleared the question on the comparison between Black Adam and Superman.

Johnson was doing the interview with THR as his upcoming movie Jungle Cruise is about to release. He tried to clear out the debate on whether Black Adam is stronger than Superman. He said that Black Adam has all the powers of Superman but what makes him different is that he is blessed with magic.

Another difference between the two is that while Superman is bound by the moral code of the world of superheroes and does not kill the bad guys, Black Adam does not hesitate in getting his hands bloody.

The fact that Black Adam is fueled by magic is a complete game-changer when it comes to the debate of whether Black Adam is stronger than Superman. If the two superheroes are pitted against each other, Black Adam’s magical powers will prove to be fatal for Superman as we know that there are only two things that can injure or possibly kill Superman- Kryptonite or magic. Black Adam has all the powers of Superman plus magical abilities.

There is another factor that would work in Black Adam’s favor and that is the fact that Adam can use his powers to inflict pain or possibly kill while Superman’s moral superhero code will not allow him to do the same.

The balance of power between Black Adam and Superman can be seen in the animated short DC Showcase: Superman/Shazam!: The Return of Black Adam.

In the short it was seen that Superman is vulnerable to Black Adam’s magic and also shows how crucial Shazam is to the Justice League as he is the only hero who can counter all of Black Adam’s magical powers. Black Adam is due to release on July 29, 2022.
