Spider-Man: Miles Morales Writer Helping With Avengers’ Wakanda Expansion Story

Spider-Man: Miles Morales Updates: Evan Narcisse, a renowned writer, has given his expertise as a narrative consultant for Marvel’s Avengers’ upcoming expansion Black Panther – War for Wakanda.

Evan Narcisse, who served as a Narrative Design Consultant for Spider-Man: Miles Morales, is also a Narrative Consultant on Marvel’s Avengers’ upcoming War for Wakanda expansion.

After a supporting role in 2018’s Spider-Man, Insomniac’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which will be published in November 2020, will put the newly-empowered Miles in the spotlight. Meanwhile, Marvel’s Avengers was released in September 2020, but developer Crystal Dynamics has continued to support it with free updates and expansions.

War for Wakanda is set to be the most expansive piece of downloadable content for Marvel’s Avengers yet. The futuristic metropolis, hidden deep among Africa’s impenetrable jungles, offers a one-of-a-kind blend of antique architecture and sci-fi technology. Christopher Judge, the voice actor for God of War’s Kratos, has now been confirmed to be the voice of Black Panther in the next expansion.

Crystal Dynamics has stated that Evan Narcisse, writing consultant for Spider-Man: Miles Morales, has joined the team to help build the story for War for Wakanda. Narcisse has a long history as a video game and comic book reporter, and he is best recognized for co-creating the iconic comic narrative Rise of the Black Panther in 2018.

Narcisse applauded Crystal Dynamics’ version of Black Panther and Wakanda on Twitter, and the developer also scheduled a July 16 live stream starring Narcisse and Christopher Judge.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales received a lot of attention for its depiction of Harlem, a diverse New York City area where Miles moves before the game starts. The honest and insightful portrayal of Harlem’s populace also reflects back on Miles, whose African-American and Latino origin gives him a different perspective than Peter Parker.

One little example of how the title celebrates the African-American community is an in-game Black Lives Matter tribute, and Evan Narcisse will no doubt bring this authentic world-building to bear with Crystal Dynamics’ War for Wakanda.

While Marvel’s Avengers has been chastised for a lack of gameplay variation, War for Wakanda appears to be an intentional effort to win back fans. Black Panther is a beloved Marvel hero, thanks in large part to the late Chadwick Boseman’s live-action portrayal of the character, and Wakanda has become a symbol of popular culture.

With Evan Narcisse from Spider-Man: Miles Morales serving as a narrative consultant on the upcoming expansion, it appears that Crystal Dynamics is making every effort to nail down its depiction of T’Challa’s universe when War for Wakanda releases in August.
