Battlefield 2042 All-Out Warfare AI Bots Confirmed As Not Optional

Battlefield 2042 Updates: Electronic Arts have confirmed that players will not have an option of opt-out of playing with bots in Battlefield 2042’s new model. The new mode All-Out Warfare mode, was revealed shortly after the unveiling of the game. EA and developer DICE teased out various modes for the online-only experience.

Currently, All-Out Warfare and Hazard Zone were the two modes unveiled with the game, while official information on other modes was not yet revealed, although they have been working on the new modes. All-Out Warfare, the new model will have two modes on its own, Conquest and Breakthrough.

Conquest should prove more ambitious than ever, courtesy of sandbox gameplay that allows 128 players to jump into the same map across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.

Breakthrough will feature its own large-scale offerings, pitting two squads – Attackers and Defenders – against one another in an experience that should please those looking for strategic play options. Since the server can’t fill out all the 128 players, the extra slots will be filled by AI-controlled bots.

That will be a fun experience but the sever will have to be polished enough to handle those many players in a single lobby. To be honest, though, users will not encounter a situation where they are outnumbered by bots in a particular lobby.

The goal is to ensure matchmaking priority over bots. For example, if a player leaves the game in between, then the place is taken over by the bot for a very short time until another player fills the place of the latter.
