Cyberpunk Return to PlayStation Doesn’t Mean PS4 Version is Fixed

Cyberpunk Return to PlayStation Store once again after 186 days, but that doesn’t mean that all of its bugs and glitches would’ve been fixed to run it smoothly on the PS4. On the afternoon of June 15, it was announced that the game would be returning to the PlayStation Store, but not Microsoft, as a digital download purchase option for the good of the players in light of all the bugs, glitches, and issues the game had at launch.

As the game was first announced in 2012, Cyberpunk 2077 was highly hyped, if not the most, but an anticipated game of 2019 then 2020 and when it had a final release date with no more delays; in December 2020 which had an Open-World action-adventure RPG that takes place in Night City.

The premise of the game was promising and the gamers were really hyped for the game, as the developers of this game are the same as that of Fan-Favorite The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. However, the results were disappointing as the game was released with a lot of bugs & glitches even though CD Projekt Red released a day-one patch that was guaranteed to fix the issues (it didn’t).

All this resulted in a tremendous drop in the stocks of CD Projekt Red, but the return to the play store could be a sign that CD Projekt Red is getting a handle on things again and turning things around. While this announcement of Playstation lets PS4 users digitally download the game, they must be cautious. As the gamers know that the game would be available with the fixes in its updates still the best way for playing it would be via PS4 Pro or PS5 (via Playstation/Twitter).

According to a tweet sent by Richard Lawler, there are brand new issues in the game and not just to the old-gens, but the new-gen systems that both PlayStation and Cyberpunk 2077 accounts suggested to use. Cyberpunk 2077’s Twitter account also announced a major upgrade of next-gen available later this year who owns a PS4 version.

They say upfront that users may continue experiencing issues with the PS4 version and encourage gamers to play on the PS4 Pro or PS5 for the best version of the game. Since the launch Cd Projekt Red has come up with small and big patches which sometimes do & don’t work. CD Projekt Red has been working hard to fix the precarious situation it put itself in, which includes a tarnished reputation, lawsuits, and claims of rushing/crunching/ignoring the internal developers who worked on the game.

The Witcher 3 made the studio a beloved and favorite gaming studio, but its handling of Cyberpunk 2077 has led gamers and retailers in a big disappointment and hanged their popularity up in the air. Though with the return on PlayStation Store, things will start to improve. As the game stabilizes more, it will be worth a playthrough, even with the disjointed introduction and failures.
