James Gunn Reveals Inspirations Behind 5 Suicide Squad 2 Characters

Published by

Suicide Squad 2 Updates: So let’s see what James Gunn reveals about the inspiration and logic behind some of the Kin 5 Suicide Squad characters, the inspiration and logic behind some of the new additions to The Suicide Squad, along with Bloodsport and Peacemaker, to the Job Power X roster. Disclosed.

The half sequel, half reboot, Gunn was introduced on board to direct the follow-up to David Ayers’s 2016 film, Suicide Squad. Although that film had assembled a formidable group of DC villains to tackle Enchantress, the film was ultimately a monumental failure at the box office, regardless. Possibly trying to breathe life into the larger estate, DC hired Gunn after being fired by Disney from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.

Suicide Squad 2: What did Gunn tell in his interview?

Suicide Squad’s sequel roster is already trying to be a more formidable group of villains. A few people are coming back from the first film, including Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn and Jay Courtney’s Captain Boomerang, but someone mostly filled Job Power X with people from the first.

Gunn went further and deeper into the DC lore to find some distinctive and out-of-the-box characters, from Weasel to the Polka Dot Man and King Shark. Why he chose these characters is quite a thriller as the film is still not released, but Gunn explains his thinking behind some of his decisions in a new interview. Which is clear from his words.

Do supervillains secretly want to be superheroes in Suicide Squad?

Speaking with Empire Magazine, Gunn explained he used to collectively carry a “disparate aesthetic” with completely unique characters to create a truly distinctive dynamic between the group’s members. It also features John Cena’s Peacemaker, which cites seventies structure compared to Gun Idris Elba’s Bloodsport and his “serious” modernity.

The director also took the time to poke fun at Javelin’s look and too-cool-for-school vibe before Margot Robbie touched down on Harley Quinn and simply said, “Harley is Harley!”

One of the major issues for a film like The Suicide Squad is the dynamics between its characters. While the pair like Rick Flag and Harley Quinn already have a long-standing rapport, as proved by the trailers for The Suicide Squad.

Gunn has pledged a higher body count for The Suicide Squad and this is likely because of the sheer number of characters he introduced on board. The characters in the first film had honest dynamism, but the film’s lack of risk-taking weakened it. Happily, The Suicide Squad star seems ready to take on the dangers in The Conqueror, from a very cool villain to its guaranteed R-rated insanity.
