Peter Capaldi to release debut solo album

Peter Capaldi  Updates: As an art student in the 1980s, the former ‘Doctor Who’ star, who played the title Time Lord for three seasons between 2014 and 2017, was the main vocalist and guitarist of a punk rock band named The Dreamboys with comic Craig Ferguson.

After filming was halted due to the pandemic, the 63-year-old Scot spent much of the COVID-19 lockdown working on his first collection of songs.

“Peter has been a major music lover for years and was doing that before his acting career properly took off,” an insider told The Sun’s Bizarre column.

“For a while, that stopped him from singing and making music, but in recent years, he’s gotten back into it and released some music just for the fun of it.

“However, when the lockdown occurred, it seemed like the ideal time to get his head down and embark on a full-fledged project of his own.

“He’s finished his parts for the record, and it’s only being mixed right now, so fans shouldn’t have to wait long to hear it.”

“He doesn’t expect it to be as big as Lewis’ records, but Peter has had a lot of fun working on it and believes his fans will appreciate it.”

Peter is a distant cousin of musical sensation Lewis Capaldi, 24, and appeared in the music video for his biggest song, “Someone You Loved.”

Peter came to witness his concert at Scala in London in 2018 and the two met for the first time.

“My dad and aunties informed me we were linked to Peter a while back, I assume he’s my dad’s second cousin,” Lewis remarked at the time.

“Whenever he appeared on television, people would say things like, “You’re linked to Malcolm Tucker” or “You’re related to Doctor Who.”

“We’d never met him before, so when my agent said he’d contacted me about coming to my show in London, I said, “Of course!” He came backstage to say hi afterward, and we had a terrific conversation.

“We talked a little about the familial connection, and he mentioned that he like the music, which was quite thoughtful of him. He’s a pretty kind person. Having someone in the family who is so accomplished is a huge source of inspiration.”
