Rune Factory 5 Confirmed For English Release In 2022

Rune Factory 5 Updates: After a long wait, Rune Factory 5 is now confirmed to have an English release in 2022. At E3 2021 Expo’s Future Game Show, fans of this genre of games were given a huge delight with the confirmation of fantasy farming RPG, Rune Factory 5, for Nintendo Switch.

Initially released for Japan in May this year, there was no prior news when the game would be available for other parts of the world. Also, the previous title, Rune Factory 4, being almost a decade old makes fans even more excited for the new mechanics to expect and how the game has adapted for Nintendo Switch.

Coming the game, Rune Factory is very similar to normal slice-of-life games with being able to romance NPCs, farm crops, and explore a small map land. However, the game is special in its own way with a JRPG storyline and combat system.

Rune Factory 4 was originally released for Nintendo 3DS in 2012 and later ported as Rune Factory Special for Nintendo Switch. The game features a male/female character (user choice) who has lost their memory. They need to explore their origin story while expanding their homeland Selphie.

For farming titles developed by Marvelous and XSEED Games, a delayed in-game release in North America is not a new thing. Especially for Rune Factory 5, this has been a subject of frustration for players trying to avoid spoilers from streamers in Japan and users who had access to the Japanese version of the game.

But the news of the worldwide release in 2022 by XSEED comes as a fresh relief for fans. Moreover, with the little peeks of the game available here and there, it might be a good thing for fans who can choose if the title is worth it.

As of now, Rune Factory 5 is confirmed a release in 2022, but no fixed timeline has been mentioned. But fans can still go to Nintendo Switch’s website to read up on the game, which is set to have similar game mechanics.

The only letdown for fans till now has been that they are still stuck with the same male/female hard-coded option. Coming after such a long time, fans expected that they would be able to customize characters like in the recent Doraemon Story of Seasons games.

Moreover, the release of Rune Factory 5 wasn’t the only announcement at the E3 2021 Future Game Show. The developers also confirmed the release of Rune Factory 4 Special for Xbox One and PS4 this fall.

This is huge news for fans who have always wanted to sport the detailing of the game on bigger consoles. While not revealing the game itself, this looks like the perfect way to increase hype for Rune Factory 5.
