Rick & Morty Season 5 Promotes Wendy’s Restaurant

Rick & Morty Season 5 Updates: As Rick and Morty Season 5 is all set to premiere this June, Wendy’s has collaborated with the Adult Swim animated series to create a new pop-up experience. There have been some additional items on the menu, inspired by the show and a transformed drive-thru.

Adult Swim and Wendy’s have been consistent collaborators. Therefore, for the Season 5 premiere of Rick and Morty’s, Wendy’s went through a huge transformation. For starters, they renamed the restaurant Morty’s.

The mega-hit animated comedy series has received both critical and financial success since its debut in 2013 and has also won 2 Primetime Emmy Awards to its name. Season 5 of this critically and commercially acclaimed series premieres on June 20 and has a straight block of ten episodes.

Rick and Morty follow the misadventures of a sociopathic genius scientist and his meek and anxious grandson, who go on life-threatening intergalactic adventures. The creators of the show have gone all out on the premiere of Season 5 of the show. The promotional rollout includes a Global Rick and Morty Day on the day of the premiere of Season 5.

Global Rick and Morty’s Day includes a website where fans can turn themselves into a Rick and Morty character with the hashtag #GoRickYourself, curated playlists of Rick and Morty episodes, and more. This doesn’t stop here. The creators have planned an actual series premiere screening in space, to top it off.

Joining in on the premiere festivities, Wendy’s has transformed into a Rick and Morty pop-up experience called Morty’s. The participating Wendy’s locations will serve new Rick and Morty-themed soda flavors including Mello Yello BerryJerryboree and Mello Yello Portal Time Lemon Lime.

These new flavors will be available till August 22. In Los Angeles, the Panorama City Wendy’s location has been renamed Morty’s, a pop-up running only from June 18-20. At Morty’s, the menu has been transformed and fans can expect items inspired from the series, including items such as the “Pickle Rick Pickle Frosty” and the “Jerry’s Single.” The patrons will also be treated to a converted drive-thru which will feature a custom LED experience.

Wendy’s and Adult Swim have been long-time collaborators. The iconic animated duo has been featured in ad spots and other promotional materials of Wendy’s, in the past. Morty’s signifies a return to the pre-pandemic trend of fan integrated promotional experiences.

Rick and Morty were renewed for an additional 70 episodes in 2018. Season 5 of the show is premiering, 13 months after the last season. It has been a shorter wait this time as fans are used to waiting around two years in-between seasons. For fans in India, Rick and Morty Season 5 premieres on June 21 on Netflix with new episodes releasing every Monday.
