The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 Updates: After years of suffering and oppression, June played by Elisabeth Moss finally got some retribution in the newest season of The Handmaid’s Tale. The fifth season of the program based on Margaret Atwood’s novel was launched in December 2020, before the fourth season had even begun.

Although no launch date has been set, the following season is scheduled to premiere in spring 2022. Elizabeth Moss and co-stars Alexis Bledel and Samira Wiley were featured in a Hulu video announcing the news.

June struck a series of arrangements with Joseph played by Bradley Whitford and Nick played by Max Minghella in Episode 10 to isolate Fred played by Joseph Fiennes in the wilderness, where her matriarchs were able to attack him and hang his dying body.

Television writer, Bruce Miller said, “I think that although Fred is dead, his influence on June continues and that is, on our show, shown through her mind’s eye of flashbacks”. Miller has also hinted that June’s acts in the climax will have an impact on her. Some of this was already seen in the last moment, which included a tense confrontation between June and Luke played by OT Fagbenle that ended with June announcing her departure.

Serena played by Yvonne Strahovski discovers that her husband has died before the climax finishes. Season 5 may be Serena vs. June, according to Miller.

He said, “Serena is the one you really have to worry about or the one I am worried about, Because Serena, although she has mixed feelings about Fred, she also does not like to lose. It’s going to be very interesting to see how she decides to come back”.

According to Miller, June will be a much more tough match than before in any confrontation between the two ladies. Says, “It could not be any more of a nod to the change in June, the fact that she hunted this guy down and actively wanted to her own hands-on him to kill him”.

Season 5 has sparked considerable conjecture regarding whether it will be the show’s final appearance, although no official statement has been made as of yet.
