Black Summer Season 2: Netflix Releases a Tension-Filled Clip

Published by

Black Summer Season 2 Updates: Before the show’s long-awaited return to the streaming platform next week, a terrifying new teaser from Season 2 of Black Summer was published on social media.

The 54-second trailer, which was posted on the Netflix Geeked Twitter account, begins with Rose (Jaime King) pointing a pistol at a guy and telling him, “I don’t believe you can remain.”

“I don’t know whether you’re useful,” Rose says when he asks why. As a monster growls behind the door, the guy replies by saying Rose, “I can’t go back out there.” If he keeps on, “I’m afraid I can’t. I’m going to die. Please, I will assist you “Rose is adamant that he go, and the guy refuses once again. “Then I’m going to have to shoot you,” she says.

Black Summer is a prequel to Syfy’s blockbuster zombie apocalypse show Z Nation, which aired from 2014 to 2018. Karl Schaefer and John Hyams, executive producers of Z Nation, co-created the prequel series, which premiered on Netflix in April 2019 with eight hour-long episodes.

On the Netflix series, Schaefer and Hyams both act as showrunners. Season 1 of the prequel series follows a woman called Rose as she sought to reconcile with her estranged teenage daughter Anna six weeks after the zombie apocalypse began.

Rose also saw the death of her husband Patrick (Ty Olsson) in the process. The series got renewed for a second season in November 2019, which would again include eight episodes.

The minute-long teaser was released just days after the first trailer for the second season of Black Summer was released. Rose says in a voiceover at the start of the trailer, “My life has only one purpose. It’s her, too. There’s no one else. I have no other option.”

The rest of the trailer depicts Rose and her daughter Anna relocating to a new safehouse in the dead of winter and doing everything it takes to stay alive, including fighting head-to-head with zombies and competing survivors.

Jamie King, Justin Chu Cary, Kelsey Flower, Bobby Naderi, and Christine Lee feature in Black Summer, which was co-created by John Hyams and Karl Schaefer. Season 2 will be available on Netflix on June 17th.
