A Quiet Place 2 Updates: The first movie of Quiet Place has made it a point to show that the family of Abbott did not wear shoes which makes it all the more jarring to see Emmett (Cillian Murphy) don with a pair of sturdy boots in the movie A Quiet Place Part II.
The Abbotts go barefoot in order to avoid attracting the attention of the alien monsters that hunt by the sound. For someone who has managed to survive the attacks so far, it has been surprising to see Emmett wearing shoes. But the shoes have represented more than just a choice by Emmett.
The series Quiet Place have chronicles life after an invasion of the alien monster. Since the creatures used to hunt by sound, all survivors have needed to remain as silent as they can be possible. The first movie was followed Lee (John Krasinski) and Evelyn Abbott (Emily Blunt) as they have attempted to keep their family alive on their farm.
They take every precaution which is imaginable to stay safe, from lining the paths on their property with the sand down for making them quieter to almost the most exclusively speaking in the sign language. But despite being so much careful, Lee has likely been killed by one of the monsters near the end of the first part of A Quiet Place.

A Quiet Place Part II is all about the family of Abbott seeing how much the world has been changed while they were hiding out on the farm. Evelyn and her children Marcus and Regan have managed to find some semblance of peace with Lee earlier in this invasion.
But Emmett has lost everyone nearly right away. The Abbotts have maintained their humanity and empathy because they had each other. But as Regan and Emmett saw first hand and many survivors of the alien invasion which has turned to a nearly animalistic state in order of staying alive.
The fact is that on top of all of this, Emmett wears shoes in a world that should be completely silent and it is just doing icing on the cake. The Abbotts have left their farm, as they can not go back to the way that they have handled the invasion in their own bubble. The rules are different in the wider world, in which each survivor figuring out their own way to continue living and also goes for Emmett.
