Aquaman 2 Title & New Logo Revealed: The Lost Kingdom

Aquaman 2 Updates: It seems that Filmmaker James Wan has revealed the title for Aquaman 2. James Wan is an Australian Film Director, Screenwriter, Producer, and Comic Book writer and is known for his amazing Directory in Saw (2004), Insidious (2010), The Conjuring (2013), etc.

The original Aquaman was released in December 2018 which grossed more than $1 Billion. To everyone’s astonishment, Aquaman became the biggest success which in turn made the DCEU & Warner Bros superhero hit and brought them together again to quickly work on a sequel with James Wan returning to direct.

Aquaman featured Jason Momoa who is known to be Arthur Curry aka Aquaman. He is half Atlantean and half-human who is embarked on a journey to lead the Underwater Kingdom Atlantis.

He is set out to stop his half-brother King Orm who is played by Patrick Wilson, from uniting the Seven Kingdoms to destroy the Surface World. The movie ends on a post-credit scene showing David alive and found by the Conspiracy Theorist who is obsessed with Atlantis. The theorist asks David to show him the Atlantean technology and David asks in exchange to help him find and kill Arthur aka Aquaman.

On Thursday, June 10th, 2021, James Wan posted a picture revealing the name for Aquaman 2 ‘Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom’ with the caption, “The Tide Is Rising”. The pictures show that he was in the production meeting of Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom. The Instagram post looks like it can be the possible logo of the movie.

The title itself portrays a few details about the sequel. It builds off of the first film and is clearly connected to the Seven Kingdoms of Atlantis. Aquaman shows the history of the kingdom and its effect after the Kingdom falls down. The movie included Six of Seven Kingdoms which were, Atlantis, Xebel, Fisherman, Brine, Trench, and the Deserters. There was a brief mention of the lost Seventh Kingdom and it can heavily weigh in on Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom.

The cast for Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom is returning with Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as King Orm, Yahya Abdul Mateen II as Black Manta, and Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus.

The details of the movie are still not revealed as of now, but it is a theory that Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom are built off of Aquaman’s ending.

The release date for Aquaman and The Last Kingdom is December 16, 2022.

In addition to Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom, Warner Bros has a full agenda of DC films coming up like The Suicide Squad on August 6, The Batman on March 4, 2022, Shazam Fury of the Gods on June 2, 2023, etc.
