The Other One is a BBC One comedy about a family whose lives are turned upside down when it’s discovered Colin Walcott (Simon Greenall) has another daughter with a mistress. “After Colin Walcott dies at his birthday party, his wife Tess and daughter Cat discover he had a long-term mistress Marilyn, with whom he has a daughter Cath,” according to the official synopsis.

Cathy (Ellie White), Cat (Lauren Socha), Marilyn (Siobhan Finneran), Tess (Rebecca Front), and Marcus are the other supporting characters (Amit Shah). Amit Shah recently spoke with Express.co.uk about season two of the show and Marcus’ fate.

Marcus’ return for season two may come as a surprise to fans, given how abruptly he left the series last season. It was Cathy’s wedding day near the end of season one, but Marcus was nowhere to be found, shocking everyone when it was revealed he had made a break for it. “Marcus definitely returns because he ran off at the end of season one,” Shah explained. Marcus will, however, return to continue the show’s bizarre adventures, as Shah confirms. “It’s implied that he’s left, but he does return, and there will be more complications and engaging storylines,” the star continues.

Season two has yet to be announced, but it is expected to premiere in the summer of 2021 on the BBC.

Holly Walsh, who is best known for the shows Motherland, Glued, and Psychob**ches, created and wrote the show. Walsh is back in charge of the second season, which Shah is looking forward to. “I’m just excited to be back,” he said.
