Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 Updates: Developers CI Games announced on May 8th on Twitter that Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 launch will be delayed.
The much-anticipated game which was scheduled for a June 4th release for PS5 has been pushed back due to some unavoidable technical issues, according to the released statement.
The game is a tactical sniper shooter game that is based upon stealth and advanced shooting mechanics. Players have to move across large areas eliminating targets with long-range snipers.
The launch of the game for PS5 on June 4th coincided with its global launch on other platforms as PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and S and PC. To some relief for gamers on these platforms, the launch date remains the same for all consoles except PS5.
CI Games Statement On Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 Delay
Pc GamerCI Games mentioned in their statement that the delay was due to some unavoidable technical problems which they discovered recently. Among other things, the developers also thanked all players for their understanding.
Though the PS5 release date remains unknown, players will still be able to access the game through the console’s backward compatibility feature. Also, the players who purchase the PS4 version of the game can upgrade to the PS5 version for free.
Free DLC Release
The developers also mentioned that they will make available the first major DLC of the game for free across all consoles. This is an act of goodwill on their part as a gesture to make up for the delay. The DLC will feature new extensive regions and many new missions.
Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 is the sixth game in the Sniper Ghost Warrior series. The game is a single-player sniper shooter set in the Middle East. More are expected soon on the release for PS5. Stay tuned for more.
