Even before the second season of the Netflix hit ” The Witcher ” starts in the stream, the third season should have been ordered. Officially, Netflix is holding back with a statement about “The Witcher” Season 3, but internally the new season is said to have already been arrested.
Since “The Witcher” season 2 doesn’t even have an official start date, a start date for season 3 has not yet been set anyway. The third season is expected to start in winter 2022 or spring 2023 on the Netflix streaming service.
The plot of The Witcher season 3 is based largely on the second volume of Geralt’s pentalogy The Time of Contempt. This is already touched on in the second season, but season 2 is likely to be based primarily on the first volume.
The book is about Ciri completing her training as a sorceress in Aretusa. There she meets Geralt of Rivia and there are riots during a magic congress and many magicians die. Geralt is badly wounded in the fight against Vilgefortz.
It is also revealed that Ciri is a direct descendant of the legendary rebel Falka and thus a “child of the older blood”. When Vilgefortz’s assistant Rience Ciri arrives to bring her to the Emperor Nilfgaards, Emhyr var Emreis, known as ” The White Flame “, she is freed by a gang of murdering and robbing youngsters, who she then joins.
