Watch Dogs: Legion Gets Surprise Zombie Mode, In PC Alpha Now

Published by

Watch Dogs: Legion Updates: Watch Dogs: Legion gets a standalone zombie mode called Legion of the Dead in an unexpected PC alpha release. Previously Ubisoft had given hints of a new mode to be added soon, but no concrete information was provided. Now the “surprise” has been revealed as the zombie mode will go live alongside the game’s June 1st update.

The new June 1st update named at Title update 4.5 is bringing a lot of changes. To begin with, are a lot of “Quality of Life” enhancements that will be added with the 60 FPS performance mode, announced previously.

The new update is also set to make players from the same console type play with each other. This means PS4 and PS5 players can team up and Xbox players of all series can do the same.

Ubisoft is also set to do an August update as Title update 5.0. It will add two PvP modes. It is also set to introduce the awaited Bloodline DLC, but that’s not confirmed. If so happens it will also see Aiden and Wrench’s addition as playable characters.

The Watch Dogs: Legion of the Dead mode released on June 1st in PC Alpha. It can be accessed through Ubisoft Connect’s “Free Games” tab. The mode features London overrun with zombies which players need to survive and flee. One can play alone or with three other users with the main focus of collecting resources that are fundamental to their escaping.

Watch Dogs: Legion: When To Expect Legions Of The Dead On All Platforms?

Ubisoft’s development team answered in a QnA blog that the release of the zombie mode in the alpha phase as a PC exclusive gives them flexibility for quick updates.

It makes sense as the mode is set to undergo a number of iterations. As of now, it’s not known when the mode will be available on other platforms. But it’s sure that Ubisoft will let console, Amazon Luna and Google Stadia users enjoy the mode too soon.

Since the zombie mode for Watch Dogs: Legion just released, it’s not sure now how good it has been received in the alpha phase. But users can be sure that Ubisoft is going to ready to give its all in updating and meeting further demands as they come.

Watch Dogs: Legion hit stores in October 2020 which was relatively early. It was riddled with certain technical issues, but those were mostly tackled in the post-release updates.

As Legion’s online version enters the market, it will be interesting how this Ubisoft crew handles the release and the experience to come.
