The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5: Release date, cast, plot and Everything you need to know

The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 Updates: Gilead is a depressing, horrible place to visit, so we’re happy to bring fans of The Handmaid’s Tale some good news for a change – the show will return for a fifth season!

Even before season four premiered, the cast confirmed that the show would be renewed in December 2020. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Bruce Miller stated, “We’re very grateful to Hulu and MGM for renewing the show for a fifth season, and especially to our loyal fans for their support.”

We are thrilled to be able to continue telling these stories with our incredible cast and crew, and we can’t wait to return to the airwaves with season four next year.

Will this, however, be the final season? In a separate interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Miller admitted that he “doesn’t know” if season five will be the final season of the show: “I mean, we talked about it, and [Elisabeth Moss] and I talked about it, and the writing staff and I talked about it extensively about where we’re going exactly, but I do feel like, after this year, it’s a good time to reassess,” Miller said.

The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 Tale Is Gone Too Far

Season 4 of The Handmaid’s Tale starring Elisabeth Moss, Season four of The Handmaid’s Tale suffered some significant setbacks due to COVID-related delays, but this should not be an issue going forward (we hope).

With that in mind, we wouldn’t be surprised if season five arrives by summer 2022, or at the very least by autumn that year.

Gilead isn’t exactly the safest place to be, and even though June has now fled to Canada, that doesn’t mean that every character is suddenly safe from harm.

Yvonne Strahovski, Elisabeth Moss, the handmaid’s tale season 4 Plot details are scarce at the moment, but it’s safe to assume that The Handmaid’s Tale will continue to explore June’s trauma following her escape from Gilead. Will the often divisive torture-porn aesthetic, however, survive?
