Due to the corona pandemic, the streaming service Netflix has paused the production of “Grace and Frankie” . It is currently uncertain whether this will delay the start of season seven. The popular series “Grace and Frankie” on Netflix ends with the seventh season. According to the US magazine “Variety”, the 7th season will consist of a total of 16 episodes, bringing the total number of episodes since the premiere in 2015 to 94. This makes the series starring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, the longest-running series on the streaming service, and even overtakes the Netflix original “Orange is The New Black“.

Grace and Frankie Season 7: Release Date
Since the last two seasons started in January, we assume that the 7th season will also start on Netflix in January 2021. However, due to the current situation, the release date may be delayed until mid-2021. As soon as the start date is officially confirmed, we will inform you about it.
The Plot of Season 7
Series creator Kauffman told the US magazine “Variety” that the 7th season will show new pages from Grace, Frankie, Sol, and Robert.
Not much more is known about the plot of the series. In the season 6 finale, the ex-husbands of Grace Hanson and Frankie Bergstein moved in temporarily with the two of them. The new toilet Frankie gave them broke and flooded the house. This is why Robert and Sol need a place to stay, at least for the near future.
Grace has her own problems to contend with. Her husband was arrested by the FBI for tax evasion in the season 6 finale and is now in custody. How Grace will handle this and whether their relationship will have a chance after this discovery remains uncertain.
So far it is known that fan-favorite Nick will be seen in the seventh season. Actor Peter Gallagher is slated to return in episode 2. Michael Charles Roman, who plays the role of Adam, will also be back in season 7.
The Production
According to media reports, the production of the seventh season began immediately after the release of the sixth season, i.e. in January 2020. As in previous seasons, all-new episodes will be shot in Los Angeles. Marta Kauffman and Howard J. Morris return as showrunners to take on ongoing production duties.
In March 2020, production, along with other Netflix productions such as “Matrjoschka”, was discontinued due to the corona pandemic. There is currently no news about when Season 7 will go back into production, but that could have a material impact on the release date.
