Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Nano Laptop Review

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Nano features Intel’s 11th Gen energy-efficient processor. The X1 Nano’s Intel 11th Gen i5-1130G7 delivers performance that is very close to the other high-end processors like the Core i5-1135G7. Everyday tasks are a breeze on this one.

Performance of Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Nano:

Though the single-core and multi-core Geekbench 5 benchmarks are well below the M1 MacBook Pro, the difference is not visible in everyday real-world use. The performance is good and the laptop is quite energy-efficient as well. Lenovo and Intel prove the fact that a well-engineered design combined with Intel’s most energy-efficient 11th Gen Core processors deliver a rather decent enough performance.

Battery life: Really Good

In real-world use, the battery life of this laptop comes quite close to the M1 MacBook Pro. The Lenovo laptop delivers 6 to 8+ hours of battery life against the 7 to 9 hours of battery life of the M1 MacBook Pro.

The battery life of this Lenovo laptop beats rivals like the Dell XPS 13 9310, which gives 5 to 6 hours.

Design:

The laptop’s weight is so crucial to productivity. Once you use this lightweight laptop, it’s hard to go to a heavier 2.8-3 pound laptop. Carrying around the X1 Nano is very easy.

When we use a laptop, we pull it out and put it back, a number of times from the bag. And that becomes so easy when the laptop is only 2 pounds, which is the case with the X1 Nano.

The weight distribution is done well. It is a 13-inch laptop.

Ports: A Con

The issue with the X1 Nano is that you only get two USB-C ports. Well, that is a compromise you need to make in a laptop that is so thin and light.

Display: Good Enough

The X1 Nano’s 13-inch 2K screen produces good colors that match any of the popular laptop’s screen quality. The brightness is rated to be 450 nits, and it does a decent job in this aspect as the display is bright enough for every use case. The 2K resolution has an edge over the basic FHD standards.

Speaker: Placement An Issue

Compact laptops have this issue quite often. In the case of the X1 Nano, there are two speakers on top (above the keyboard) and two on the bottom of a unit. The audio might get muffled many times. You need to use the laptop on a desk to get a good experience. The audio is decent enough, but the position of the speakers is an issue.
