Major movie titles like Raya and the Last Dragon, Mortal Kombat, and Tom and Jerry had already opened. When Godzilla vs. Kong opened in theatres, it was the highest-grossing opening weekend during the pandemic. However, Fast and Furious 9 has crossed the record and is now ruling the box office.
According to Variety, Fast and Furious 9 is expected to earn $160 million over the three-day weekend. The film has already earned $127 million. Despite the delay in release due to the pandemic and being released in only eight countries, the movie has performed well enough at the box office.
