The fact that Chris Hemsworth’s character gained a large amount of weight was one of the most startling aspects of Avengers: Endgame. Thor’s depression following his disastrous failure to stop Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War prompted him to completely disregard his responsibilities, and he spent the next five years hanging out with Korg and Miek, drinking beers and playing video games.
Thor was in a much better place by the end of Endgame after the Avengers beat Thanos and the devastation was reversed. He also decided that he isn’t suitable to be King of Asgard, so he handed over the reins to Valkyrie and joined the Guardians of the Galaxy on a new mission. When Thor Love and Thunder was unveiled at SDCC 2019, it was stated that Jane Foster, played by Natalie Portman, would reprise her role as Mighty Thor. Thor’s weight loss quest in the next film is probably one of the more intriguing aspects of his story, especially after Endgame revealed that he can’t suddenly drop weight. In the film, it’s evident that the hero will be back in peak form. There have been claims that the 2019 conclusion film mishandled the character’s bodily transformation and was just exploited for humorous purposes. Filming on Thor Love and Thunder is said to have wrapped in Australia. Thor will face up against Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher in the fourth installment of the Thor trilogy, with star Natalie Portman reprising her role as Jane Foster, who will become the Mighty Thor.
