The Good Doctor Season 5 Updates: The medical drama starring Freddie Highmore has been renewed for a fifth season by ABC, marking the network’s first scripted renewal of the broadcast season. On May 3, 2021, ABC renewed The Good Doctor for the fifth season. It was fantastic news for the fans of the series, though it wasn’t entirely unexpected.

The series follows Dr. Shaun Murphy, a young surgeon with autism and savant syndrome who continues to employ his unusual medical abilities at St. Bonaventure Hospital’s surgical section, as played by Highmore.

Despite the pandemic, ABC was one among the networks that strove to keep the fall as normal as possible during the 2020–2021 TV season. As a result, the show’s schedule was disrupted, resulting in a decline in viewers.

The executive producer and showrunner are David Shore. Executive producers include Daniel Dae Kim, Erin Gunn, David Kim, and Sebastian Lee.

The Good Doctor Season 5 Expected Release Date

The Good Doctor Season 5 was approved on May 3, 2021, much to the pleasure of fans. The Good Doctor is expected to premiere in the fall of 2021, most likely in September of that year. ABC hasn’t announced its autumn schedule for 2021 yet, but it appears that the objective is for a season that is as typical as possible in 2021–2022.

Because the renewal of Season 5 was only recently announced, there is no trailer for the upcoming season yet. A trailer should be released a few weeks before the premiere of the season, so fans should expect to see one around the end of 2021.
