Overwatch 2 Updates: There is a “large” new Overwatch feature that is going to be announced soon in the coming future. The Director of Overwatch 2, Aaron Keller, has confirmed this. The lead of the project didn’t say much on the specifics, but it did rule out a few possibilities in responding to questions from fans about the next online shooter.
Let’s talk about what’s so special about it. This new version, the Overwatch 2, has been one of the mysterious projects ever featured at this company. We have got confirmed news, that the title will include many new features like a new graphics engine, new passive abilities, and even co-op missions. Though we know about all this, we still don’t have all the details. There have been some years since this one is in development, but we are still not aware of all the info. This new version is also tipped to support crossplay with the predecessor, Overwatch. Blizzard is also applying some game touches in this new one which would give it a retro feel for sure. Fans would recall the gameplay of the previous iteration after playing this one.
Overwatch 2 Details
In a Reddit AMA, Keller said “We have several things coming to Overwatch. As far as rough estimates go, one large feature will be announced somewhere in the timeframe between soon and really soon.” There may be no Apex Legends-style ping system in this one, as PC Gamer notes. Blizzard has said that though they have a prototype around how things will be, there is still no official finalization to anything. Technical Director John Lafleur has promised that this time there are “many new features” in the game’s engine. And optimizations are being done already. How will the graphics of this version be, is still not clear.
Regarding the release, it’s uncertain. Both Keller and Lafleur didn’t reveal the release date of Overwatch 2. Lafleur said that most probably, there will be a beta test before launch. There are always some bugs and performance issues in new games, and the company must do everything to decrease them as much as possible before the official launch. Fans might want to keep an eye on all the social media handles and forums if they want to test the beta versions of the game.
