Bethesda’s Dishonored 2 Will Leave PS Now On June 1st

Dishonored 2 Updates: Dishonored 2 is the sequel to 2012 action-adventure game. Made by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda. It’s not a surprise seeing the removal of the title from PS Now.

Bethesda was recently bought by Microsoft and the deal involved Arkane Studios as well. This could be the main reason why Bethesda’s IP are leaving Sony’s platforms.

Released in 2016, Dishonored 2 gained quite an audience and good name for it’s gameplay and well constructed storyline. It picks up exactly where Dishonored ended.

The game allows players to choose between Corvo Attano, main character of the Dishonored, and his now-adult daughter, Empress Emily Kaldwin.

Both characters are skilled assassins with different set of supernatural powers and abilities. Players have to use them to target certain villains and complete their tasks in their own way. The gamer’s approach is important, as it heavily impacts the storyline.

Sony announced the addition of Dishonored 2 to it’s PlayStation Now library only last year. The library features over 800 game titles allowing players access to variety of titles from PS4, PS3 and PS2 on PS5, PS4 and PC.

The Bethesda game will now be removed from Sony’s library on June 1st. The rumor was started by one of reddit’s users about the Arkane Studios production. But it has now been confirmed as the news is displayed on PlayStation 2 ‘s page for Dishonored 2.

This is not the first removal of an IP from PlayStation Now subscription, and these can be checked only on PS ‘s updated pages. Bethesda still has some other titles on Sony’s platforms. Rage 2 and DOOM remake have still not been removed yet.

The decision to remove Dishonored 2 can be due to many reasons. But the fact that Arkane Studios’ Deathloop is still a PS5 and PS4 exclusive release is a good sign that Microsoft isn’t forcing it’s hand here. But this could be too soon to tell too.
