Outlander Season 6 Updates: Outlander has seen massive success since it first premiered in August 2014. With five seasons already in the run, the show has received much-deserved acclaim from fans and critics alike. And, the ‘drought’ phase now seems to be coming to an end.

The fantasy drama, produced by Maril Davis, is based on Diana Gabaldon’s bestselling novel series by the same name. The historical drama tells the story of Claire Randall, a British Army nurse who served in World War II, as she is transported to 1743 where her life and freedom are threatened. In this new mysterious world, the already married Claire falls passionately in love with one Jamie Fraser and is caught between the two men in two different worlds.

Outlander Season 6: When can we expect the new season?

The COVID 19 pandemic and consequent government restrictions have affected the production process in almost all shows and movies. And Outlander has been no different.

The production finally began this year in January and it is most likely to air by early next year.

In an inaugural podcast featuring executive producers Maril Davis and Matthew B. Roberts, who is also the writer for the show, the duo revealed that the latest season will have very emotional and traumatizing scenes in Outlander Season 6.

Outlander Season 6: Cast

Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe will be back for another season as Jamie and Claire. Other actors reprising their roles along with the two include Sophie Skelton as Brianna Randall Fraser and Richard Rankin as Roger MacKenzie.

Joining the team this time around are Mark Lewis Jones, Jessica Reynolds, and Alexander Vlahos as the Christies family.

The script is written by Matthew B. Roberts and directed by Kate Cheeseman.
