Google Photos Free Unlimited Storage Will End This Month, How to Download All Images on Your PC

Google Photos Updates: The day is finally going to arrive. Google has announced that they are going to stop giving the unlimited free storage that they used to provide with Google Photos.

That’s a bad news, and many would be disappointed for sure. People used to consider Google Photos as a go-to option for storing their pictures and keeping their devices clean.

If you store photos locally, there may be chances that you don’t find the required image, or the image gets lost. But storing images online makes them more accessible, and gives peace of mind as they are safe.

The free storage will not be available from June 1, however you will have the option to buy storage for yourself. If you don’t want to spend the money, you will have to stay contended with the 15 GB of free storage that Google provides.

That would still be provided to users. Google has a subscription called as Google One, and you need to purchase it to get the extra storage you want.

Though the storage is not free anymore, what you can do is that you can download all the photos that you have stored in your Google Photos, locally in your PC or Mac. Let us see how you can do so.

Google Photos: Download Your Photos Locally

Google

There are many ways to download all your Google Photos from the Google cloud. The most simple way to do it though, is to download all the files from the Google cloud, one by one individually.

While this may sound a bit time-consuming, it is a good method if you don’t want to download all the photos. While downloading individually, you can keep a check on what to download and what not. To download, go to photos.google.com and then login to your google account.

Open an image that you want to download, click on the three-dot menu on the top right corner, and click download. You can also select multiple images at once and download them together. However, there is a thing to note that downloading multiple images together will compress the selected images into a zip file.

You can also use the feature called as Google’s Takeout. Google Takeout is a method by which you can download everything, such as Google apps, mail messages photos etc.

In order to use this method, users need to go to takeout.google.com, login to the google account, and click New Export. Clicking on New Export will give you a list of checkboxes, from which you can select what to download.
