Bridgerton Season 2: A big change with an LGBTQ intrigue?

Bridgerton Season 2 Updates: As we know, season 2 of The Bridgerton Chronicle, which will soon be available on Netflix, will focus on the love life of Anthony, played by Jonathan Bailey, who will seek to marry after his painful breakup with Siena. The episodes should therefore follow the 2nd book of Julia Quinn’s saga … but will this always be the case for future seasons?

Some fans are asking for more inclusiveness with an important LGBTQ storyline, centered around one of the Bridgerton children. Except that is not the case in the books where all are heterosexual. The author of the saga is not against this idea as she recently confided in an interview.

Bridgerton Season 2 Details

Big success from the beginning of 2021 on Netflix, The Chronicle of the Bridgertons is already renewed until season 4. Currently, season 2 is in preparation: filming has already started and photos taken by the paparazzi have shown a first glimpse of the flagship duo of future episodes: Anthony ( Jonathan Bailey ) and Kate (Simone Ashley). The sequel to the series produced by Shonda Rhimes will adapt the second novel in Julia Quinn’s literary saga but will also bring some new features, as was the case for season 1.

In the first season, fans were able to discover several characters created especially for the series such as Queen Charlotte, who will be entitled to her spin-off, or Sir Henry Granville (Julian Ovenden). Benedict (Luke Thompson), Daphne’s brother, sympathized with this artist who was having a love affair with a man. An intrigue which, according to some Internet users, could mean that Benedict could be gay or bisexual in the sequel. This is not the case in the 3rd novel. Others think it’s Eloise (Claudia Jessie) who might actually be a lesbian.

Will a Bridgerton be gay in Bridgerton Season 2?

But is it possible that one of the Bridgertons is gay or bisexual in The Chronicle of the Bridgertons, so which would be a big change from the novels? The Spanish version of Cosmopolitan magazine posed the question to Julia Quinn. And the latter is absolutely not against! When asked about this possibility, she still confided that she did not make these kinds of decisions: ” It would not surprise me at all but I do not know if they will do it. I am not part of the process. writing, I’m just a consultant. And I see the scripts when they’re done. That kind of change is theirs. ”

The author admits anyway that she would like to see this change in the series. ” There is a gay character, Henry Granville, but he’s secondary. It would be great to have an LGBT protagonist. (…) The series is more inclusive with a cast without racial prejudice (…) I am very grateful to the Shondaland team for showing me what they can do with my books. This team is huge, I’m just one person. Imagining one of the Bridgertons gays seems like a good idea to me because the goal of the saga is to show that everyone deserves a happy ending, ”she added.
