Pose Season 3 Updates

The writers stated that it was their first objective while writing for the third season. Executive producer and co-writer of the show stated at a press conference, “We weren’t interested in only telling a story about trauma. The ballroom is a representation of what it means to congregate and share testimony and to love each other. And our show is a celebration of the everyday intimacies.”

The man that began to rot in Elektra’s apartment was actually a client whom she left overnight when she left for work as BDSM Mistress. She came back later only to find him dead due to drug overdose. She knew that if the police found out about it, they won’t spare her so she hid the body in her trunk in her closet. This is kind of based on a real story of a drag performer, Dorian Correy. A mummified body was found in her trunk after her death which is believed to be of Robert Worley. As the thoery suggests, Worley attacked Correy either as an abusive partner or with an attempt to rob to which Correy defended and Worley got killed in the process. Back then Correy too hid the body like Elektra and never let the truth out until her death.

However, in the series, the Evangelista family helped Elektra out and threw the body in the sea. Thus, making it impossible for anyone to find out anything about it. In this way, they also feel a bit relieved to be able to help Elektra in a way as a return gift for the sacrifices she had made for them throughout her life.

Dominique Jackson who’s played the role of Elektra praises the character very much for her strength and dare to fight in life. She says she enjoyed every moment playing the character and felt a new energy flowing through her.
