Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro New Design Leaked

Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Updates: Launch of products may take time, but leaks of renders and designs start to come quite early. And this time, it’s the Pixel devices which have been leaked. Renders of Google’s Pixel 6 are out, and boy are these designs new.

The 6 series looks entirely different from any of the other devices that have come in the Pixel lineup. Let’s know what’s new about this year’s Android camera champs.

Google has remained conservative with the hardware on their devices. They have had 13 MP cameras with the same sensor (IMX 363) since the Pixel 2. But even in that aspect, there might be a big change in the 6 series. Not just the camera hardware, but the entire device’s hardware might be prone to a major upgrade, including the chip inside.

And talking about chip, this new Pixel device might be powered by a chip that has been built by Google itself. Yes! So finally, looks like Google is now abandoning the use of Qualcomm chips inside their phones.

There was a talk going on about Google ditching Snapdragon chips, and 2021 seems to be the year where this actually takes place. According to leaks, this chip might be called as GS101 Whitechapel.

And guess what, it is Samsung with which Google is developing it! Quite strange, isn’t it? A perfect example of a case where two rivals come together to defeat a third big player of the market. This new chip would enable Google to have a better control on their hardware and software.

Leaker Jon Prosser has shared device renders of the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. The back panel appears to have a matte finish, and above it there is a glossier finish of a different color. There is a horizontal camera bump, and the Pixel 6 has a dual camera setup while the 6 Pro has a triple one.

Both the devices have a bright orange color for the top portion of the back. The Pixel 6 has a white finish for the lower portion of the back, while the bigger brother gets a muted orange paintjob. There is also a large Google’s “G” logo in the center. Gorgeous, isn’t it?

Now talking about the front of the device, there is a hole-punch display in both, and the hole is now at the upper center portion of the screen. Google is also going to implement an in-display fingerprint scanner in the Pixel 6 lineup, a first in the Pixel history.

Google has had a history of making not so ‘out-of-the-way’ or ‘striking’ phones, be it w.r.t. the hardware inside or the build. The designs have been quite similar. If it wants to compete with the Samsung’s and the Apple’s of the world, it needs a good design overhaul.

With all the new hardware and renders that we are getting to see, it might be an exciting phone this year. And with the new Stock Android 12, the package would be really amazing.
