Black Panther Wakanda Forever Reason behind the title of the movie

“Black Panther Wakanda Forever” is the official title of the second part of the Black Panther Movie. We explain its heartwarming meaning to you here.

Marvel has released a ton of movies and titles – one of which is Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The second part has been in production for a while. A new script had to be written when the leading actor, Chadwick Boseman, died much too early of cancer last year. The new title has a lot of meaning, which we are happy to explain to you here!

What the title “Wakanda Forever” means?

The real meaning of “Wakanda Forever” is really very complex: Firstly, it shows the residents of Wakanda. It is a gesture that is not only used as a greeting but also means great respect. As we saw in Avengers: Infinity War, it is also used before a fight. But outside of the film, too, it has become very important for “Black Pride”, the pride of PoCs (People of Color).

The phrase was used everywhere on social media when the film came out and to this day, years later, it is considered a symbol for the film and what it has meant for the PoC community: A PoC that plays a superhero! People had to wait far too long for it. “Black Panther” made history – Chadwick Boseman was part of that story and will be remembered with the words.

The new film has to do without Boseman

The far too early death of the actor meant a lot of change for the second part of “Black Panther”. So far it is not known to what extent the new part will thematize the actor’s demise. The title of part 2 makes it clear that it will not be forgotten.

It is very unlikely that Boseman will be replaced by another actor, but so far no information is known about the new part. “Black Panther” presented a completely new culture, which will certainly be presented in a more multi-faceted manner in the second part. Characters like Shuri, Nakia, and Okoye will move into the limelight, that is out of the question. Wakanda still has many stories to tell – the multi-layered title also promises that!
