The Underground Railroad Review: Today Amazon Prime Video brings you the start of “The Underground Railroad” Season 1, in which a young slave escapes from brutal captivity and is wanted.

Amazon Prime Video is again expanding its program with a few titles in May 2021. The history series ” The Underground Railroad ” is one of the innovations of the streaming service. It deals with the underground group of the same name that freed numerous slaves in the 19th century.

The Underground Railroad Cast

One of these slaves is the young Cora (Thuso Mbedu), who has to work on a cotton plantation in Georgia. When the plantation owner burns one of the slaves alive one day, Cora plans to escape. One of her fellow prisoners, Caesar (Aaron Pierre), tells her about the underground organization “Underground Railroad”.

This is supposed to help slaves escape to the north via an underground tunnel. Cora and Caesar go on a risky escape together. Their disappearance is soon noticed and so they are pursued by the bounty hunter Ridgeway (” The King ” actor Joel Ridgerton) and his slave Homer (Chase W. Dillon).
