Marvel Studio’s New Loki Poster Revealed Showcasing New MC Characters

The new poster for Marvel’s forthcoming Disney+ series Loki promotes Tom Hiddleston’s return to the MCU and, oddly, features a cartoon clock. Due to the coronavirus pandemic delaying the launch of Phase 4 last year, the most recent MCU projects have all been streamed. With WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’s time in the spotlight coming to an end, all eyes are now on Loki. For the first time, Hiddleston’s fan-favorite villain-turned-antihero will star in his Althoughfilm, which will pick up after Loki’s escape with the Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame.

Loki must work with TVA agent Mobius M. Mobius (Owen Wilson) to repair the damage he caused, or risk being erased from existence. Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and Richard E. Grant also star in Loki. Loki was scheduled to debut on June 11, but Disney+ shocked fans last week by announcing that it would now premiere on Wednesdays. Loki is only four weeks away from its premiere, with a June 9 premiere date. Marvel revealed a brand new poster for the series on Wednesday morning to set off the countdown.

Outside his new job with the TVA, time is a big part of Loki’s life. Several Loki trailers have hinted at trips to his past, whether it’s to see Loki’s loss in The Avengers or to revisit his time on Asgard in the first Thor. The cartoon clock, as strange as it can be, has some significance as well. The clock was revealed to be Miss Minutes, the TVA’s mascot, in previously revealed Loki merchandise. Loki’s new links with the TVA seem to be strong, as shown by her appearance on the poster. Here, he’s a real company man. Moreover, Miss Minutes’ overall appearance only serves to emphasize how weird Loki is proving to be.

The MCU has been around for over a decade, so it should be confident in taking some risks. Although The Falcon and the Winter Soldier generally followed the formula of a conventional Marvel film, WandaVision was praised for accepting its misfit. Loki can do a lot of the same stuff, and the trailers have promised an unusual adventure.
