House of the Dragon First Look Photos Unveil Game of Thrones Prequel’s Cast in Character

House of the Dragon Updates: The leaked pictures of House of the Dragon, introduce the cast of the extremely anticipated Game of Thrones prequel. The series began principal photography in Apr after announcing the cast had come together for a table reading.

Leaked videos showed the cast filming on the beach, indicating that production had already started in anticipation of what’s probably an early 2022 debut. Matt Smith appeared as prince Daemon Targaryen among Emma D’Arcy as princess Rhaenyra Targaryen.

Taking place nearly 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series is going to be based on the George R.R. Martin book Fire & Blood.

Throughout this time, a bloody war called The Dance of the Dragons breaks out and ultimately ends up in their downfall. House of the Dragon will not just feature the Targaryens, though, with the HBO show set to introduce a cast of characters that work with and for the royal family. They, too, are involved in the political turmoil the series is ready to document.

HBO has given a first look of the cast in costume. Smith and D’Arcy will be seen as the Prince and Princess of House Targaryen. Another photograph shows Steve Toussaint as Corlys Velaryon as known as the Sea Snake, a known Westerosi sea-farer.

A third photograph shows Olivia Cooke as Alicent and Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower. In the series, Otto Hightower is Hand of the King to Paddy Considine’s Viserys Targaryen, whereas Cooke’s Alicent is Viserys’ second wife and daughter of Otto Hightower.

The look of the characters in costume will solely serve to more hype for House of the Dragon and hopefully put fans comfortable who are tired of diving into the world of Westeros for a second time.

After the controversial ending of Game of Thrones, the prequel will have even higher expectations. Still, these House of the Dragon pictures are nearly nostalgic in a manner – returning to the land of Westeros is exciting no matter what feelings remain concerning the original series’ ending.

Fortunately, this time around, HBO will not need to worry regarding the show being a success. they’re all but bound to pull in countless viewers, giving House of the Dragon’s creators a way bigger budget right out of the gate. With a lot of dragons alive at this time in Westeros history than throughout Game of Thrones, that budget will be necessary.

Whereas House of the Dragon remains roughly a year faraway from premiering, this promising first look into the series is an attractive come back to the world that many are waiting for.
