The Good Doctor Season 5 Updates: With the huge growth of viewers and ranking, the series The Good Doctor has been recently renewed for season 5 in May 2021. Until today, the show has a total of 4.23 million viewers.
Also among the eight dramas aired by ABC, it ranks third. The show is starred by Freddie Highmore playing the character of Shaun Murphy, a young autistic surgeon of the reputed St. Bonaventure Hospital in fictional San Jose.
The first season of the show was released on September 25,2017 and until then there’s nothing stopping it from releasing season after season.
The American Medical drama television series is based on a South Korean series with the same name whose rights were bought by actor Daniel Dae Kim and eventually started the adaptation.
The show basically revolves around Shaun Murphy who’s a young autistic surgeon in St. Bonaventure Hospital. He has a troubled past which landed him in the state he is in right now. Later, he shifted to San Jose to work at the reputed hospital.
The show has a total of four Seasons with the fifth season to come up soon. The show was recently renewed for a fifth season on May 2021. The increase in the viewers, speically during the time of pandemic and the profit gained due it has forced the producers to call for a fifth season.
The show has a total of 71 episodes released until now while the fourth season hasn’t ended yet with each episode running for a span of about 41-44 minutes.
There hasn’t been any news regarding the release date of the fifth season of the show. The only thing we know about is that it’s been renewed for a fifth season very recently on May, 2021.
With the filming and production works yet to begin while the pandemic still hasn’t completely vanished, it’s bound to take a minimum of 1.5-2 years for the show to come up with the new season.
However, if somehow the pandemic situation relaxes and they are able to resume their filming with full force then there’s a possibility that the show might come up by the end of 2021.
