Outer Banks Season 2 Netflix’s Release Date – Will it come this year?

Outer Banks Season 2 Updates: With its release during a global lockdown, Outer Banks gained an overwhelming response from fans with its portrayal of life by the sea on the hot summer days. Seeing its popularity, the teen drama, which premiered in April 2020, was renewed for a second season in July of the same year.

Although there has been no announcement yet on when Outer Banks Season 2 would debut on Netflix, the show’s crew recently confirmed that the second season’s filming was wrapped up in April 2021. With no solid information yet, we can only make sense of the rumors doing the rounds.

Outer Banks Season 2 Details

With Netflix usually releasing new seasons of shows a year apart and with over one year since Outer Banks was aired, fans were expecting the second season to premiere in April this year. However, the production has only been wrapped up last month. Additionally, post-production usually takes around four to six months’ time.

Outer Banks’ actor, Johnny Alonso, recently shared a video while doing some ADR work for the new season on his Twitter account. He captioned the tweet saying: “Cannot wait for Outer Banks Season 2 to drop this summer. Had to do ADR for a couple of my scenes in burbank. Saw the footage. It looks sick!! Can’t wait for you to see my character #Season2 #outerbanks #travel #focused #actorslife #PositiveVibesOnly #inspire #imdb #Netflix (sic)”

However, don’t be too hasty to think that summer implies June or July. With filming completed very recently, it seems that we’ll have to wait for the new season at least until August or early September. Even though it seems like a long wait, all we can say is better late than never!
