The Irregulars Season 2 Cancelled At Netflix?

The Irregulars Season 2 Updates: The Irregulars is a British mystery adventure crime drama television series created by Tom Bidwell for Netflix.

The show was released on Netflix on 26 March, 2021 with eight episodes each running for about 49-58 minutes. Recently, just a month after the release of the series the streamer announced that the show was ending and hence the second season of the show is cancelled.

This shocked many people as it was completely unexpected. The viewers, specially the fans of mystery series, expected to see a second episode of the show.

Why The Irregulars Season 2 was cancelled by Netflix?

The update regarding the cancellation of the show was a shocker for everyone. The show was running quite well and was also in good rankings. The viewers also quite liked the show and the popularity of the show was gradually increasing.

HITC

The show made it’s way to a good rank according to the streamer’s own daily top 10 charts. The Irregulars made the top 10 chart in about 80 countries. This proves that the series was a great hit and people liked it a lot.

The Irregulars even made it to the number one position on Netflix U.S., which was also an indication that the show was definitely receiving a renewal for another season. But, a number one spot doesn’t guarantee renewal, specially for a high production value show like The Irregulars.

The streamer couldn’t take the risk of investing in the show for a second season just for the reason that the first show was a hit.

The show being of high production value, would require them to perform better than the others and even better than the first season in order to make a profit out of the second season. But, the streamer couldn’t afford to take any risk and therefore the second season had to be cancelled.

Although Netflix keeps most of its decisions hidden, but in 2018, the Vice President of Netflix Cindy Holland said during a Television Critics Association event;”The biggest thing that we look at is, are we getting enough viewership to justify the cost of the series? “
