Orange Is The New Black Season 8 Updates: “Orange is the new black” is an American prison comedy television series that was made for Netflix, which first premiered on July 11th, 2013. The series is based on the popular memoir of Piper Kerman, “Orange is the new black: My years in the prison”.
In a frenzy and much to the happiness of fans on February 2016, the series was renewed for a fifth, sixth, and seventh season with the seventh season being the final season which was released on July 26, 2019.
Many viewers might not know this but “Orange is the new Black” is Netflix’s most watched and its longest running television series. The show received positive acclamation throughout its course for the seven seasons.
The show stars Taylor Schilling as Piper Chapman who was indicted of smuggling suitcases filled with drugs for her girlfriend Vause 10 years ago from the present.
So the show actually shows the her struggles as she has to leave her family and life in New York after this abrupt imprisonment for something that happens long ago as well as the hardships of prison inmates and guards.
The show works through flashbacks and an intimacy that grapples its way working through relationship, friendships, betrayals and what not.
Netflix had already announced that the show was renewed till seven seasons of the show with an end already in plan.
But, the creator of the show, Jenji Kohan, in a strange turn of events announced that the things did not go as planned and there might be a possibility of another season.
The producers had already decided that they did not want to make the show unnecessarily long and drag it but there is now a full fledged chances of getting another 13 episodes season 8th.
Well, this is such an exciting and unexpected news for the fans worldwide as well as for Netflix whose entire streaming platform was transgressed to another level with this show.
