Invincible: Robert Kirkman Hopes to Take the Show ‘Beyond’ the Source Comic

Published by

Invincible Updates: The Invincible is an image comic that has been recently adapted as a show streamed on Amazon Prime. But there are some major changes in the show.

One of them is that the most strongest hero, Omni-Man isn’t the idol of morality that he appears to be. In the comic, this fact was made public in a scene where Omni-Man and his son Invincible had an argument and Omni-Man confronted his son about his doings.

But in the animated series; this fact is made public only at a later stage and until then the creators stretch the issue longer and as a result the viewers got the chance to see scenes and interactions that they hadn’t seen before even in the comic.

The best newly added scene of the story was seen in a recent episode of the story on Amazon Prime. In the scene, we see Global Defense Agency Director Cecil Stedman and Onni Man discussing important stuff. In the comic we see the loyal friendship between Cecil and Omni-Man and their partnership to clean out the area from crimes.

Cecil uses an earpiece to contact Omni-man who’s the strongest of all the heroes to save the area from any danger and also provides backup and provides cleanup. When Omni-man betrays the organisation , it is only then Cecil realises and regrets that they have lost a huge asset.

All About Invincible

But the adapted animation manages to add an emotional and personal element to the relationship between Cecil and Omni-Man. Omni-Man keeps on searching for his son–the hero known as Invincible and Cecil attempts to distract him and intercept his efforts with various plans. Cecil isn’t only keeping Omni-Man away from gaining another ally but is also having a suspicious chain of actions.

The dramatic scenes gradually build up with overwhelming actions. Omni-Man is ambushed various times like attack from an invisible GDA Task force, to surviving a part of his neighborhood being blown up, to being attacked by laser-until he flew to space and blew up the satellite. At last, both Cecil and Omni-man fought man to man using an ineffectual energy rifle which helps in teleportation.

Omni man tried to kill Cecil through a number of ways like throwing a boulder, creating shockwave that rend the earth. But the only close he got was upto the level of grasping the tie.

The comic never had a scene where both were given a chance to confront. It’s quite clear that the addition made in the series slightly developed the story. With Cecil’s resources he can buy anything that he wants as resource while Omni-man is still the strongest of all the heroes.

The invincible series stars a number of people like Sandra Oh, Seth Rogen, Zazie beets etc. The series is produced by Skybound with its executive producer Robert Kirkman, Simon Racioppa, David Alpert and Catherine winder. The new Epidoses are released every Friday on Amazon Prime Video.
