Attack On Titan: Eren, The Worst Type Of A Villain

Published by

Attack On Titan Updates: The end of Hajime Isayama’s dark epic Attack On Titan is approaching, and with the manga’s final chapter just hours away, there’s no better time to begin breaking down the characters of the dark epic, especially Eren Jaeger.

As well as the Season Four offering us a very different perspective on Jaeger after his strike on the nation of Marley, it’s important we took a look at why Eren has been the toughest kind of villain in both the anime and manga for one of the most famous anime series on the globe currently.

Turning His Back On His Friends

Eren goes a long way toward rubbing salt in the wounds of his closest friends, Mikasa and Armin, in one of the final episodes of the first half of season four, particularly with the former.

About the fact that the youngest Jaeger brother initially assisted Mikasa in saving her life, he ultimately slams that back in her face throughout a horrific hostage crisis in which he threatens to turn into the Attack Titan and slaughter all of their mates.

Eren can’t stop himself from tossing Mikasa under the bus, prompting Armin to unleash a barrage of blows on Jaeger, which is entirely justified.

80% Of The Population Murdered

CBR

Evidently, this is the most important. Fans of the manga will recall that Eren brings the “Euthanasia Plan” to new heights by unleashing the Rumbling on the earth and killing countless innocent civilians, many of whom have never seen war before.

The Colossal Titans put their paws down on Marleyian refuge children in one especially unsettling scene, as Eren merrily screams about liberation into the heavens. It’s enough to make any fan’s blood churn, and it showed that irrespective of his motivations, Jaeger was too far along to be saved.

Attack On Titan: Does Not Listen To Anyone

CBR

Among the most irritating aspects of Eren’s descent into outright villainy was the fact that he ignored his friends’ suggestions and didn’t listen to someone who wasn’t part of his own thinking process.

But before he began his crazy scheme of destroying eighty percent of the populace under the foot of the Rumbling, Jaeger formed his own division of Jaegerists and murdered fellow troops, it was obvious that he wasn’t going to listen to anybody else’s opinion about what he thought was the best thing to do.

He initially pursued Zeke’s scheme, but later discovered that he was still using his brother as a means to an end in order to obtain access to the Founding Titan’s influence.
