Horipro, a talent agency, announced on December 21, 2020, that they were working on a live-action TV adaptation of the manga.

On February 5, 2021, the first three episodes of the project were released in select theatres for a week-long run. In Japan, the full-length TV show debuted on MBS’s Dramatism programming block, TBS, and Apple TV+ on February 17, 2021.
