Licht was not, in fact, Licht. The Eye Of The Midnight Sun’s villain and leader was an elf with unbelievable mana who fought on equal footing with Magic Knights Captain Yami Sukehiro and defeated Wizard King Julius Novachrono.

Furthermore, he resembled Licht, causing all viewers to believe that this elf was the former leader of the elves. The villain, however, discovers that he is an elf called Patolli after activating the reincarnation spell.
