Every PS5 Backwards Compatible Game Cataloged By Dedicated Fan Site

Published by

PS5 Updates: Fans have created a website devoted to cataloging PlayStation 5 backward compatible games; the information given on the site is extensive, complete with tags indicating which titles have access to which next-gen features.

Last summer, when Sony announced the PS5’s backward compatibility options, there was a lot of uncertainty. The finer details seemed to become clearer over time, but the PS4’s launch showed that the list of backward compatible games wasn’t quite as extensive as Sony had led fans to believe.

But it’s not all doom and gloom. There are a lot of PS4 games that can do a lot more than just run on the new PlayStation hardware. In the Favor Performance mode on PS5, for example, 2018’s God of War will achieve up to 60FPS thanks to the unlocked frame rate, but it’s not as stable as some players would like.

Surprisingly, Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Tsushima does better in this regard; according to Digital Foundry’s tests, the action title runs at a much smoother 60FPS with a greater resolution of 1800p on the PS5.

Players can now keep track of which PS4 games perform best on PlayStation 5 in a more convenient manner. Backwards-Compatible.com, a fan-run website spotted by Push Square, lists every backward-compatible game that can be played on Sony’s latest hardware.

So far, Liebe Brave and other ResetEra affiliates have reviewed 577 games in the database. Each game has its own dedicated card, complete with optimization-related information.

For example, The Last Guardian’s tags state that the Studio Japan title “performs best on PS5” and can achieve a locked 60FPS.

A search of the website for Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, on the other hand, finds that, while it typically performs well, players are bound to encounter graphical problems. The site already has most of the most popular PlayStation 4 games, though the list will certainly expand over time.

As a result, PS5 owners interested in the system’s backward compatibility options should keep an eye on the aforementioned website, particularly since more games are likely to get next-gen enhancements.

Fans are hoping that games like Bloodborne and The Last of Us Part II will be updated to take advantage of the PS5’s capabilities. For players looking for an excuse to return to these harrowing worlds, either of these titles running at a smooth 60FPS would be nothing short of a boon. Fans were so excited by this news. for more updates stay tuned.
