The Irregulars: Who Does Bea End Up With? Does She Pick Leo or Billy?

Published by

The Irregulars Updates: The Irregulars, which premiered on Netflix on March 26th, is a Sherlock Holmes tale unlike any other, as it follows a group of struggling street teenagers who solve crimes while Holmes and Watson claim the praise.

Bea, the leader of the Irregulars, becomes the love interest of two characters, Leo and Billy, who form an unpleasant love triangle during the season.

The eight-episode show is based in Victorian London and follows the titular Irregulars, a group of troubled street teenagers who are tricked into investigating supernatural offenses by Dr. John Watson as he and his associate, the legendary Sherlock Holmes, claim full credit.

All across the show, it is clear that Bea, the Irregulars’ chief, has captured the hearts of Billy and Leo, two of the group’s representatives.

Billy has known Bea since their youth and has always loved her since their times in the workhouse collective. Leo who is really Prince Leopold, Queen Victoria’s uncle, is a new member of the Irregulars, and his presence immediately captures Bea’s attention, much to Billy’s dismay.

Who Does Bea End Up With?

By the end of season 1, Bea hasn’t found love with either Leo or Billy. Through the course of the series, Leo and Bea develop a romance, but it is abruptly ended in the first season’s final episode.

Leo takes Bea aside after the climactic incidents at the Rip are pushed to one side and acknowledges that he can’t continue with the Irregulars. Conversely, he must travel to Europe to fulfill a vow he made to his mother, Queen Victoria, to marry Helena, a lady he has never met.

Bea is devastated by the hearing, but she accepts Leo’s decision after learning that he committed to the marriage in order for Billy to be released from jail.

Leo is afraid that Billy will be abducted again if he does not leave. The Bea love triangle is left unresolved for a possible season 2, however, if The Irregulars is based on actual past figures, Leopold would be off the table because he decided to marry Helena of Waldeck and Pyrmont in real life. Leopold passed away at the age of 30 just 2 years after their engagement, in April 1882.
