Resident Evil RE: Verse Open Beta Kicks Off Next Month

Published by

Resident Evil RE: Verse: Updates Capcom will run an open beta for Resident Evil RE: Verse on consoles and PC from April 8 to April 11. RE: Verse will be packaged with RE: Village as a free online offering at launch, similar to the RE: Resistance multiplayer pack-in that was launched alongside Resident Evil 3 Remake.

In January, shortly after the mode’s official release at Resident Evil Showcase, Capcom hosted a closed beta for RE: Verse. The publisher’s new web project is one way for fans to mark the 25th anniversary of the lengthy horror franchise.

As a consequence, RE: Verse includes playable iterations of Resident Evil’s most famous heroes and antagonists, including Leon Kennedy, Claire Redfield, Jill Valentine, and Nemesis. Players will compete in five-minute, six-player deathmatches in the PvP mode, where collecting virus samples is crucial.

Every sample unlocks new gameplay features such as damage buffers and modifies the traditional death mechanism. For eg, upon demise, the player-character turns into one of Resident Evil’s monsters; the ghoulish transformation is claimed to be based on the number of viruses received by the player.

RE: Verse will have an open beta for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, as per the Biohazard Official Twitter page. Preloading starts on April 5 at 8:00 p.m. EST; the beta begins on April 8 at 2:00 a.m. EST and concludes on April 11 at 2:00 a.m. EST.

For anyone with an active Capcom ID attached to their PC or console would be eligible to participate. This open beta, according to Capcom’s website, is a way to assess server load. Should technical problems arise during the beta, participants should expect “emergency maintenance.”

The easiest way to ensure that fans have hands-on time with RE: Verse prior to launch is to hold an open beta. Given the weak reception of RE: Resistance last year, it’ll be fascinating to see how players react to Capcom’s new effort to ascertain the horror franchise online.

Before the game’s release, more players will be able to play Resident Evil Village. Capcom plans to release a new demo this spring that will have real in-game material, unlike the Maiden demo on PlayStation 5. The author has yet to include details on the subject as of this article.
