Cuphead 2 Updates: It’s been around three years since the 2D side-scroller originally released. So have there been any announcements about a possible Cuphead 2?
In spite of being launched in 2017, Cuphead has been a game that has to be managed to stay relevant and in the public mind, with everything being notified from a TV show in development to crossover skins in other games. But the big news fans have been waiting for is whether or not there will ever be a sequel.
Cuphead is a 2D sidescrolling platformer that differentiates itself through its hand-drawn animation art style. That, in cooperation with challenging gameplay, cemented Cuphead as a popular game, & it has since been ported and released on all major gaming platforms. Developer Studio MDHR has been continued to capitalize on the success of the game in the wake of its launch.
In 2019, Studio MDHR announced that we’re partnering with Netflix to develop an animated Cuphead TV series. A first look for the Netflix Show Cuphead was unleashed in June 2020, but no release date has been since announced.
There have been tiny news about a potential Cuphead Sequel, and fans probably should not expect any notifications for one to reach anytime in the near future if the current fate of Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course is any indicator.
The DLC extension for Cuphead was first notified in 2018, but in November of 2020, Studio MDHR announced that Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course had been delayed indefinitely due to the production delays caused by the Coronavirus pandemic.
LooperSince then, the studio has not announced any future updates about the Cuphead DLC. If the studio is having that much difficulty completing an expansion for the first game, one has to imagine that any potential sequence is still a very long way off.
What’s in Cuphead 2: The Delicious Last Course DLC?
It sounds like it will provide fans a healthy amount of script to play. For starters, the cuphead DLC will add a third playable role to the game in the form of Mrs. Chalice, who will have her solely own movesets.
Gamers will also be able to play the complete of the base game as Mrs. Chalice, as well as in the new DLC area. In addition, Cuphead will add both new levels and new bosses to the game.
Players might not have Cuphead 2 anytime soon, but they will have few adorable skins to use in some time.
